Lets talk beauty boxes.. theres so many out there on the market, but which ones are honestly worth the money?
Throughout 2018, I tried a few, I tried GlossyBox, BirchBox and can honestly say I was impressed with both of them. I love the idea and the surprise element of having 5 or 6 new beauty products delivered to my door each month, not knowing whats going to be inside the box until I open it.. it gets addictive.
At the end of last year I decided to give The Look Fantastic Beauty Box a go. I am a regular orderer from Look Fantastic, they stock some of the best brands and have super quick delivery. They do some of the best collaborations with their beauty boxes, I’ve added a couple of images below of their collaborations with ESPA, Mac, Illamasqua and these start around £30-£35 which for what you get is quite honestly a bargain!
I placed my Beauty Box order back in November and 2 days later, the box arrived. Sometimes you find with beauty boxes or advent calendars, the products in them are the not so popular launches, or you’ll get an eyeshadow or a lipstick in an unwearable colour, but I was so pleasantly suprised when I opened my November Beauty Box and the products were mostly brands I’d heard of, apart from a couple of things which I was excited to try out.
My eyes were drawn straight to the Elemis bottle. This was a 15ml sample of the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel, which is a cream exfoliating mask. I have used this before so know I love it, and actually used this the first evening I received it as part of my evening skincare routine.
Also in the November edition was a REN Evercalm day cream. Ren, being another well known trusted brand, I was excited to try this out and used it on my skin the next morning. Considering this was only a 15ml sample, it lasted me a week and I think its a great sign of knowing whether you love a product when you use it over your normal every day moisturiser for a week.
Also inside were a couple of make-up items including a Laura Geller eyeshadow in a beautiful cashmere gold shade, along with a lipgloss in the perfect nude, and a black liquid eyeshadow by mellow – a brand which is new to me but being a beauty blogger this was something I was keen to immediately test out.
Finally, product wise in the box, was a limited edition full size Dark Wonder bath bomb from bubble t.
I’m a sucker for packaging, so love how this came boxed with tissue paper and shredded tissue to pack the box out, and each product was nicely displayed in the box, which also comes with the latest edition of ELLE Magazine inside – perfect for a bit of bath time reading whilst trying out the bath bomb and my new Elemis mask!
Overall I was so impressed, I thought I would subscribe to see what the December box was like.
The December box arrived promptly at the start of December, once again packaged beautifully, containing the latest edition of ELLE and 6 beautiful products. Again this time, there were a couple of brands I’d heard of, and a few that were newbies to me.
The December edition came with a mini Illamasqua Hydra Veil Rehydrating Gel. If you read my blog post about my evening with Illamasqua back in September, you’ll know I absolutely loved this product then, so its great to have received a mini version, perfect for packing with me for my recent holiday.
Also in the box, was a This Works pillow spray, one of my favourite products to spray on my pillow for a good night sleep. Alongside a couple of make up bits including a Karl Lagerfield brow pencil, in the perfect shade for my brows and a look fantastic angled beauty blender. The final 2 products were a Dr Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Brightening Eye Serum (the packaging here is just beautiful) and a Grow Gorgeous Scalp mask, which will be coming with me to the spa next time.
I’m hugely impressed with the Look Fantastic Box that I’ve decided to sign up for 2019 and can’t wait to see what lands in the post each month and try out the products.
Are you subscribed to any beauty boxes, and if so are there any that you would reccommend giving a go?
