If like me, you’re always on the look out for the next big beautiful salon or spa to retreat to, then you’ll be pleased to know I am starting a new edit on my blog featuring a full guide to London’s most instagrammable beauty hot spots, bringing you the latest salons and spa’s to take over the ‘gram and I’ll be reviewing then writing about my favourites on my blog.
Being a huge beauty fanatic, trying new treatments at spas and salons is part of what I call my hobby. The salon and spa world is quite a saturated market, but then I always believe there is room for new salons and spas when they offer something different, something thats better than their competition and somewhere that the moment you arrive you know you are going to want to come back.
This week I was kindly invited down to Roxanne Campbells new nail studio on New Kings Road in Fulham. Roxanne is a multi award-winning celebrity nail artist who has worked on major fashion campaigns, had her work featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Tatler and Marie Claire. She has created nails for Adele, Dua Lipa, Jourdan Dunn and has also created her own luxury range of nail lacquers in beautiful colours all inspired and influenced by the seasons. Roxanne’s most recent venture has been opening her brand new nail studio in collaboration with Rose & Wild Hair.
From the moment I arrived at the salon, I was greeted with a warm welcome and took a seat in one of the most gorgeous waiting area’s I have been in. The Scandi style, cozy studio is a millennial pink dream, housing beautiful velvet sofas, a coffee table with Chanel and Dior books positioned perfectly, a feature wall of wall art that would rival every bloggers desenio set up, and the most instagrammable basket swing to get you’re ‘after’ photos in.
I wasn’t left waiting long at all before I was greeted by Roxanne and taken over to her nail station. If you thought the instagrammable bit stopped in the waiting area, it didn’t, and I made myself comfy in a gold framed bucket chair and was asked if I would like a drink. I opted for a glass of water, which arrived on a gold tray, accompanied by a Lindt chocolate (my favourite). One of the first things I noticed was how clean everything was, the products on display to all tools used were fresh and sanitised which for me is one of the most important things.
My treatment started with a file and shape of the nails, a cuticle tidy followed by a homemade exfoliation made up of brown sugar and shea oil, which was so nourishing and softening and beautifully fragranced. Throughout the treatment Roxanne was so friendly and chatty, we talked about how she started in the industry which was a lovely story and she told me all about the time she was the nail artist for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and how she painted flags on the nails of the athletes. She also described what its like to be the lead manicurist at London and New York Fashion weeks, and how she has now gone on to be a judge at Nail competitions such as Nailympia.
My treatment included a luxurious hand massage, before my nails were painted. As mentioned earlier, Roxanne has her own range of nail lacquers in 10 beautiful colours. It was a hard decision to make as each and every colour is gorgeous, from the classic red ‘Kiss Me’ to the Autumnal shades ‘Expensive Taste’ and ‘Wine and Dine’ in the end I narrowed it down to a gorgeous nude called ‘Nude Tights’ and a beautiful smokey grey called ‘Stormy Weather’. I ended up choosing Stormy Weather and am so happy with my decision.
After the polish had been applied to my nails, they were left to dry under a lamp and I was asked if I would like another drink. This time I choose a peppermint tea, which again arrived in a gorgeous little teacup fitting in with the decor perfectly. Another thing about the experience is that I wasn’t rushed at all, Roxanne took so much time over every element of my treatment, providing A-List client care and there isn’t a single thing I could fault about the whole experience.
I will absolutely be returning to Roxanne to get my nails done and have put it on my list to get a pedicure in the summer, as the pedicure area is just too divine not to. I’ve popped the link to Roxanne’s treatment list here, and a link to her instagram here’ I’d love to know if you decide to pop down to the salon when you’re next in the area and whether you go for the ‘Rose and Wild Express Manicure’, or the ‘Fulham Pedicure’ I can guarantee you will get treated like a queen.. or a king, as there are also options for guys too! Roxanne is so professional and its hands down the best manicure I’ve ever had.
